At first glance The lessons for this Sunday (SoS 2:8-13; Jm 1:17-17; Mark 7:1-8,14-15,21-23) have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. However, if we consider the category of action, as in "whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God," (1 Cor 10:31), it may be possible to find a thread:

James:
Action is preferred to inaction.
It is in our works that our faith comes alive and is visible.

Mark:
Action should be purposeful, neither rote nor random.
Traditionalism may merely be repeating the mistakes of the past.
What we do matters.

Song of Solomon:
Action should be joyous, calling forth all the passions with which God endowed humanity.
